Music has always been an integral part of both Candice and Rohan’s lives. Performing from a very tender age with identical twin Nadinne, Candice has a wealth of performing and song writing experience, and many will know the sweet harmonies and wholehearted performances of Candice and Nadinne who released two albums, winning them some impressive awards along the way.  Their second album Breaking It Down was recorded in Nashville with Mark Moffatt in 2009; an experience they will never forget.

 

Rohan is the local policeman at Keith in South Australia and has been playing music since he started his first band ‘Outrage’ in high school as a drummer and singer. Candice and Rohan had been together for nearly 20 years when Rohan’s love for playing in his Aussie pub band enticed Candice to join him. They loved singing together and just like that the new country music duo THE AUSTINS was formed.

 

‘Balancing our working lives with our young family and our music can be challenging at times, especially as Rohan is the only policeman in our town.  Working as a duo makes it so much easier; we realised that performing together we could really make it work.  We can write songs with the kids on our knees, between work shifts if we have to.  It’s a great way to make all our dreams work in together’ reflects Candice.

 

In 2020 THE AUSTINS were Finalists in the Aristocrat Country Entertainers of the Year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

 

THE AUSTINS debut original studio album, produced by the Golden Guitar winning Matt Fell, is due for release in 2023, and showcases their own style of contemporary country rock, blending Candice’s sweet soulful vocals with the rocky edge of Rohan’s style.  With influences like Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, it is an enticing and unique blend that sets THE AUSTINS apart.
